Google I/O 2019
We arranged for 3 Hong Kong media to attend Google I/O 2019 in San Francisco, Google’s annual developers conference which brings together people from all over the world for talks, hands-on learning with Google experts, and a first look at Google's latest developer products. This year's I/O had many exciting announcements, including the launch of Pixel 3a and AR navigation on Google Maps, showcasing how Google is working to build a more helpful future for everyone.
During the 3-day event, we secured 130+ pieces of coverage across print, digital & social. The event was made even more special by the first-ever Hong Kong developer to win a Google Play Award which allowed our three guests - PCM, HK01 & e-zone - to carry out interviews following the awards. Back in Hong Kong, we secured further interview opportunities for the founders of the app (alongside a Google spokesperson) with key titles including Apple Daily, TVB, Ming Pao and HK Economic Times.
In addition to attending I/O itself, hearing news live and interviewing execs, reporters spent a day on campus seeing what life is like at Google to help inform their reporting throughout the entire event.
